Band Strengthens For Scottish Championships

The Lochgelly band are pleased to announce the double signing of Bruce Gilmour and Kirsty Miller.

Bruce Gilmour has signed for the band from local rivals Tullis Russell Mills band where he held the position of principal Eb bass. After a spell out of banding Bruce returned to the fold recently with the Glenrothes based band. Bruce commented that he is looking forward to new challenges with Lochgelly band, starting with the Scottish Championships.

Kirsty Miller has recently moved back to Fife after having lived in the Newcastle area for the last few years. Whilst in Newcastle Kirsty played repiano cornet with Championship section band Gateshead Brass.

Vice Chairman John Martin said "these signings are indicative of the quality of player we wish to encourage in order to progress. Both of them strengthen their respective sections and we are pleased to have captured the signatures of such strong players". The first contest outing for both new signings will be the Scottish Championships to be held in Dundee in March.
